Red and Black share the points at Home

Better availability this week (thank the universe for small mercies), saw the Red and Black Army take on a well drilled Amersham and Chalfont unit.

The game started very evenly in the first five minutes opening salvos being exchanged by both attacking units probing for weak links. Then we settled in the game and bossed most of the play for the remainder of the half. Against the run of play on a rare counter opportunity, lazy work in our midfield letting down the press, a daisy chain of errors gift Amersham their first goal.

The Red and Black Army reorganised an d continued to boss most of the game but a well drilled Amersham unit couldn't be unlocked.

With the start of the second period the home team came out with purpose and were rewarded with a penalty corner before the 40 min mark, but the injection left a bit to be desired and nothing came of the chance.

With the momentum in our corner the home team continue to ask questions until a second penalty corner saw Shujah eliminate the first runner to put the ball comfortable past the goal keeper's right ear. All tied and everything to play for!

We continued to dominate through the rest of the half with Amersham attacks becoming few and far in between even though the local right half back seemed to be playing for the away team.

With the game heading into its swan song Amersham came alive and forced a couple saves from the local custodian, but couldn't find the back of the net. Almost of the stroke of time the locals mounted a well organised attack but needed another couple minutes to see it bear fruit.

The Red and Black Army share points at home with Amersham who last week shared points with Oxford Hawks. Next week we travel away to Eastcote!
