19/2/2022 Kenley 1’s 1 v Ashford Ladies 1’s 6

The first half was a tightly fought battle, with Kenley fighting hard to keep Ashford at bay. There was lots of attacking play from Ashford which finally paid off, when Kitty Langdon cleverly kept the ball on the pitch by the back line, and she reverse hit it to Lucy Scott who tapped it in. The score remained at 1 -0 until half time.

After a strong word from the coach Jackie Parsons at the interval, Ashford started the second half with a quick goal from Lucy Scott, followed swiftly by a rare goal by Sophie Nicholas, where she demonstrated some strong attacking skills to make it 3-1 to the Red & Blacks. Lucy Scott then completed her hat trick when she intercepted a sixteen yard hit out by the home team and ran into the circle, punishing the Kenley player for her mistake, by putting the goal into the left corner. The home team scored a consolation goal, but Ashford were always on top and they scored a fifth from a good run in to the D by Lenka Petrakova, who swept the ball into the bottom left corner. Ashford scored a final goal when Lucy Scott turned provider and crossed the ball to Elize Brown, who celebrated her promotion to the first team by reverse hitting the ball into the net. Thus Ashford continued their unbeaten run with another good victory.
