Staines away

Well what a start to the local derby! Within a minute of the whistle blowing Staines had Ashford in their own half and won a short corner! A strike from the left manages to sneak just inside the post and open the score board so close to the start f the game. AHC know they needed to respond - and respond they did! With Nadia making a cracking run from the restart all the way to the edge of the D a slip to Lucy to fire it home! 2 minutes in and 1-1 on the board! With the umpires thinking it was going to be gold galore Staines took the restart, but some hard working defensive lines kept the score line at 0-0. Despite about 10 shots hitting the post and some excellent saves AHC just could get another ball past the keeper, but neither could the home side so after the first thrilling few minutes no more goals for the rest of the game! Player of the Match was Anna :)
