Ashford (Middlesex) Hockey Club are delighted to learn that our long-standing former President Lynne Morgan has been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in the first King’s Birthday Honours List on 17 June 2023.

Whilst ‘honours’ have very much been in the news lately, all of us at AHC can appreciate how richly this recognition is deserved and how absolutely fitting is the honour bestowed. Lynne’s wonderful recognition by our King is cited as being for ‘Services to Hockey’. As a hockey family this is music to our ears. Lynne’s ceaseless work and passion for AHC is in addition, of course, to her dedication to Middlesex hockey and Welsh hockey as well. All have benefited enormously from Lynne’s energy and passion over many years.

Ashford (Middlesex) HC is deeply proud of the recognition given to one of our own and I am sure that every member of the AHC family will in their own way express their pride personally to Lynne when the opportunity arises as well as their congratulations.
